Microblading is semi-permanent makeup procedure performed on the lip with a digital shading machine. It creates a light, airy affect for natural, yet long-lasting results!
With the old style of lip tattoo, a lot of times it was only just the liner which can look unnatural. Traditional lip tattoos are also deeper in the skin making them permanent and often times, harsh looking. We are staying shallow, working in the epidermal layers of the skin. This is the reason Lip Blushing is a semi-permanent makeup procedure.
If you love wearing lipstick but don't love the way lipstick feels on your skin, lip blushing might be right for you! We always recommend reaching out to us for a quick consultation to see if you will be a good candidate.
After coming in for your 2 initial treatments you can expect your Lip Blushing results to last 1-3 years. However, everyone is different and skin isn't completely predictable. It is possible to need a third treatment if your lips have any dark pigment in them naturally.
Your Lip Blushing results will fade naturally to lighter and lighter shades of the color that you selected with your Artist.
Yes! Your Permanent Makeup Artist is skilled in dark lip neutralization. This requires specialized training. Warmer, lighter colors are needed to adjust the darkness generically present in these cases. For example, a peachy/pink color would just heal pink and the peach tones would neutralize the dark tones in the lips.
Yes, please do not consume any coffee/caffeine, alcohol, fish oils, aspirin, ibuprofen or vitamin e 24-48 before your treatment. These are all blood thinners and can make the treatment more painful as well. We also recommend taking a Lysine supplement for 1 week prior to your treatment for proper lip healing(consult with your doctor if need be).
Yes, however only if you have had one before. We have successfully performed Lip Blushing treatments on clients who have had cold sores in their medical history. If you have ever had a cold sore, you will need to be cleared by your doctor first. They will usually prescribe a preventative medication to be taken prior to the treatment.
If you have had previous lip blushing or lip tattoo please call or email us for a free consultation. It is more challenging to go over other artist's work. We will set up a quick consultation to determine if you are a good candidate.
No, it is not recommended to get any kind of permanent make up while pregnant or nursing.
At this time we are not acceptable clients who are under 18 years old.
We recommend a doctor's clearance before receiving lip blushing. One should likely wait 6 months after chemotherapy is finished.
You will probably want a 7-10 day cushion after your lip blushing and before a special event. Your lips will be bright and swollen the first few days. Days 3-5 they will go through a little bit of a shedding/scabbing process. The lips might look patchy for up to 6 weeks.
We recommend waiting 1 month after receiving lip injections to have the Lip Blushing treatment done. You will also want to wait 6-8 weeks after you second Lip Blushing treatment to have any lip injections performed.
No. Unless you need to bring a translator, we ask that you come alone so that your artist can do her best work without distractions.
It takes about 3-4 hours depending on factors like how many questions you have, size of lips, and how well your lips take pigment. There are a lot of steps involved and we want to make sure we take our time with each and every client.
Lip Blushing is slightly more uncomfortable than permanent makeup for the brows. Lips are more vascular and inherently more sensitive. We numb the lips for a full 30 minutes. Most of the discomfort is just in the beginning part of the treatment, then the numbing agent becomes more and more effective. Some clients even fall asleep after that beginning part is over!
Your artist will consult with you on your preferences for your lips. We will discuss any existing asymmetries. Keep in mind that it only recommended to go outside the lip line in a very marginal and conservative manner. This will produce the most natural looking results. We will look at the shape together and make any adjustments if need be. Then we will begin the Lip Blushing treatment after you have agreed upon the shape.
Your color will be determined based off your skin tone and preferences. Generally speaking clients with cool tones and/or pale skin will look best with cooler tones and clients with warmer tones and darker skin will look best with warmer tones. It is helpful to bring your favorite lipstick with you to your appointment and/or pictures of lipsticks that appeal to you.
Instructions will be discussed in full detail during your treatment. Essentially, you will need to dab your lips with a damp cotton pad throughout the day, the first day to prevent lymph fluid from crusting and forming a hard scab. You will also need to wash your lips morning and night (after eating) and apply Vitamin A&D ointment as needed. Ointment is provided by your artist.
Days 1-3 your lips will be bright and swollen. Days 3-5 they will go through a little bit of a shedding/scabbing process. The lips might have dark and light patches for up to 6 weeks. This is a normal part of the process.
Yes, for 7 days following your treatment please avoid excessive sweating, tanning, swimming and lipstick. You will also want to avoid spicy foods. Eating softer foods and drinking through a straw the first few days will be best. Then for 6-8 weeks following your Lip Blushing treatment no lip injections, exfoliating the lips or using any harsh products on the lips.
Yes! Your second treatment is necessary to solidify your results. The lips can heal patchy after the first treatment. The second treatment is there to give better coverage in these patchy areas and to adjust color if need be.
You should come back for your second treatment in 8-10 weeks.
Your new lips after lip blushing is really low maintenance! Just wear a SPF lip balm whenever out in the sun.
Yes, you can wear lipstick or or lip products 7 days after your lip blushing appointment. It isn't recommended to wear any lip plumpers or anything else with active ingredients for at least 6 weeks.
