Powder brows vs microblading?
Ever wonder should I go with powder brows vs microblading or ombre brows vs microblading? And what is the difference between all of these services? Powder Brows is a permanent makeup technique using only a shading tool. There are no microblading strokes applied during the powder brows treatment. Powder Brows is also referred to as ombre brows or just shading. With powder brows, it gives a more filled in look for easy eyebrows in the morning.
Is it right for me?
Someone might enjoy powder brows if they like more of a makeup look, like you are wearing eyebrow powder or pencil. Whether or not you wear a lot of makup, if you think you might like a solid color for your brows, powder brows (aka, ombre brows, also, less commonly known as powder blading) would be the way to go. It will replace the need to apply any brow pencil or brow powder at all!
Another reason to opt for powder brows is if you have oily skin. Over time microblading can look "blurred out" on those with very oily skin and usually doesn't last nearly as long. Going with the powder brows technique for these individuals can provide a stronger base of color to prolong the time before your refresh treatment.
But why is it called powder or ombre brows?
It is called powder brows because it looks soft and powdery when healed. When we think of ombre, it is one color gradually transitioning to another color. Remember how popular ombre was in the hair industry a few years back? It is the same concept with eyebrows yet not as obvious as a color difference with as with hair. In fact, it is hardly noticeable! A slightly lighter color is used on the tops and fronts of the brows making it look softer in these areas. Overall, this color gradient gives the brows a more natural look.
So even though some people might label powder or ombre brows as looking unnatural or too bold, it is all in the technique that is used!
Powder brows are completely customizable. Your artist will consult with you about your shape, color and desired outcome. Your shape can also be adjusted to your liking before the treatment begins.
