What's the Big Secret?

What are some industry secrets we think you should know about?

The first secret we would like to share with you is that getting Microblading done while you are on your cycle could possibly make the experience more painful for you. Why would it be more painful you ask? Well, generally speaking most women are just a bit more sensitive while on their periods. They are emotionally sensitive and sometimes experience cramps and back aches as well as other pains. This could in turn lower your pain tolerance during your Microblading session. That time of the month usually causes the blood to pump a little faster. Increased blood flow during the treatment could potentially make the microblading process less tolerable.

Why would this be a secret? Other Microblading Artists are either unaware or concerned that someone may not want to book with them if they share this honest truth.

At Brow Revolution, we believe in transparency and making you feel as comfortable as possible during your treatment. That is why we want to provide you with this information so you can plan your microblading appointment accordingly if you are nervous about the pain. Also, while it might be standard practice to numb only once at some other Microblading studios, we numb you 2-3 times during your treatment.

A second secret we would like to emphasize is that you need to avoid coffee/caffeine(including tea), alcohol, fish oils, aspirin, ibuprofen or vitamin e 24-48 before your treatment. These are all blood thinners and can make the treatment more painful as well.

A third piece of advice that we consider an industry secret is that it’s possible to ruin the microblading if you don’t take good care of them afterwards. We have done a lot of trial and error to make sure we have the best aftercare in order to optimize your results. Aftercare is gone over in detail during your treatment but it’s important to wash your brows several times the first day. Microblading produces lymphatic fluid. This lymphatic fluid is a normal immune response to heal the body. But if allow this lymphatic fluid to dry and harden it can ruin the Microblading. So you will be washing this away several times the first day. Then, after the first day you are really out of the clear with that lymphatic fluid. So you will not be washing your brows or getting them wet for the next week. We will just apply a small amount of A&D ointment every few hours for the next 7 days. Keeping water away from them and slightly moisturized to aid in healing, will give you the most color pay-off as possible.

The last secret we would like to reveal to you is that exfoliating your brows can make them fade more quickly. This may be considered a good or bad thing. It just depends. If you have had previous microblading before and need it to fade faster before your next treatment, this is a great tool to utilize to prep your brows for your revision treatment.

However, if you want your Microblading to last as long as possible then be careful with how you exfoliate your face. Don’t use anything messy on your forehead that could run down into your brows and exfoliate them. We encourage facial exfoliation as part of good skin health but try to use something that you can control the application of instead.

We hope these words of wisdom help in your quest for beautiful brows! Also, check out our FAQs page for answers to more questions.
